I Cleaned Out My Closet
by setting guidelines to go by
It was time. I was motivated.
The closet contents bulged out in various places. To slide hangers along the rod was impossible — there was no space left to even insert another hanger. It was time.
But a word to the wise. This chore is about more than just making space in our closets. It involves letting go of by-gone days (and sizes).
This is why I suggest having a plan. Before you run to the closet and pull that first item, reflect on what you hope to achieve. Write down the goals. List your steps for achieving the goals. Perhaps, set a date/time deadline.
First, establish a goal.
Before we make a plan, we must establish our main goals. If your closet ISN’T filled with clothes in 3–4 different sizes, your goal may be easy to define. Make room for new clothes, perhaps.
eg. Pull out anything that has damage or is sorely out of style or hasn’t been worn in over a year. Donate the out of style and items not worn for a year.
Second, write guidelines.
If your closet is bulging, like mine, chances are we will find 3–4 sizes we kept for 2 reasons:
1 — We will lose weight immediately to get back into this smaller size.
2 — But…
